Iconic Moments- Story Ideas

Here's some illustrations I've done for my concept class. We had to come up with a different story pitch for each class, each from a different topic or inspiration. Then we'd make a story and then the iconic moment! I love doing these type of things.


Inspiration from Life.

When I was a baby and learning how to walk, I didn't learn how to stop fast enough and ran straight into a corner of a desk and cracked my head open. Aw yeah!

Inspiration from an Illustration

I found this really awesome digital painting with a lady playing a giant a lullaby. Somehow that turned into an evil hateful monster wrecking a town and a young girl having to play a magic song to calm the soul of the beast.

Inspiration from Book/Movie/TV

A strange combo of X files and Fantasia 2000 inspired this one :D Little forest nymph has to learn life isn't full of fun and games, and that she can not be ignorant of the devastation going on around her. It's time to stand up and fight!

People Watching

We got to watch people downtown for story ideas. I also got starbucks and was distracted by this silly crow most of the time. I was gonna do a story about a girl wanting icecream but a foofoo dog breaking free from its snobbish owner sounded like a lot more fun.

Some recent commissions I took on my DeviantArt. I really enjoy working in this simple papercut/scrapbooky looking style. The Easter pic is characters from the petsite I work for.

Sit Stand

Everything that could've gone wrong or crash maya went wrong in the process of making my sit stand. I seriously had the worst of luck. I'm glad I was able to pull through in the end and still make something I was proud of! Im sorry the quality of the vid is bad, blogspot tends to make things look not so great. Anyway, there's my lil' groundhog! And lol at my voice, I couldn't find anything suitable for a groundhog, so I improvised with my own attempt XD

edit: WOW blogger made my video practically unviewable it got so pixelated, hopefully this one from photobucket looks clearer!

Concept Class Stuff

Hey there! So Here's some process things from our next animatic project for Concept. We have to create a new pitch using the same story structure as the Athena/Arachne story. SO that basically means two obnoxious characters who think they are hot stuff, battling for the title of who's the hotter stuff. Since both characters from Athena/Arachne story are rather obnoxious and have strong personalities, first thing who came to mind was pirates! So here's Barnacle Billy (lanky pirate and yes the name was inspired from a restaurant here in Sarasota) and Captain Crossbones (I really liked the idea of his nickname being CC ) Also I've got the iconic moment picture up!

Also, here's the animatic from the previous assignment which was metaphor/synesthetic shift. CEPT THE QUALITY IS TERRIBLE THANKS BLOGGER ignore this i'll edit it later

More Speed Paints

Last two are from past Dipsy's! (Digital painting club) Both are an hour long. The painting of the two creatures and the girl was for a concept project last semester :) Also about an hour. Also some refs for that 3rd picture's characters, I must've forgotten to post these last semester.

Some stuff

Woot! Okay so the second one I just finished, it's my character sheet for the dance project in Traditional Animation :D I love him lots, yay for gas masks! The other pic is from Dipsy, the topic was Alien farm. My mind was so braindead aha, in like the last 15 minutes I added those weird alien cows, they look so funny.

SO MUCH OTHER STUFF TO DO! Woooooo can't wait till thanksgiving though, that'll be awesome ahh food, real food *_*

Misc Drawings

I took today to relax and just draw in my room. Here's some random stuff I did today! The sphinx is my character, Zu, who loves fruit. And then there's the pumpkin monster..I didn't do that one today its from this week though :P

WOMP WOMP

Primitive Theater! I wish I was able to get a couple more frames in the end so the sound effect of the magic cauldron didn't go by so quickly, but at least Im still within 240 :P

Man my up light is tricky, cause of that darn hat of his! I kept tweaking it to make it hotter but I couldn't go any more then this without the whole scene being affected, but you can see his eyes throughout the whole scene, so I think im okay :D



Oh and my frog animatic, it's still a teeny rougher in some parts then Im usually okay with, but It gets the idea across! I gotta stop being OCD over things! XD

Robot Barber Shop for Dipsy and my character sheet for Dialogue! I..have other stuff but its in my flash drive which is like two feet away..yes im that lazy at the moment lol. :P I'll post those some other time

Some Neuro Stuff

A lot of people already know I work for a site called Neurogalaxy. I draw like everyday for them aha. It's also great practice! (And tons of fun I love creating things)

Sketchbook Pages

I've got some weird sketchbook pages, but I just pulled out of a few of my favorite ones, I like to draw in pen most the time. My scanner is like an inch too small, so some things are cut off weirdly :O
